Why we love Wedding Fayres

Tis the season of wedding fayres and we love this time of year!  Getting to talk to excited Brides and Grooms planning their big day and attending some of the most beautiful wedding venues.

Munstone House Wedding Fayre

For Brides and Grooms it’s an excellent chance to meet lots of local suppliers in one place, getting ideas and inspiration, getting great discounts and even discovering great products and services that you hadn’t even considered.  It is also a great opportunity to meet suppliers face-to-face who will be responsible for products or services that you will be using on your big day.  For wedding fayres at a particular venue, it’s often a chance to see how that venue will be decorated on a wedding day and can give you an idea of space and what the venue will feel like full of people.

For exhibitors, well organised and well marketed wedding fayres can provide invaluable opportunities to meet brides and grooms and present them with your products and services.  Not only brides and grooms but it is also an opportunity to meet other wedding suppliers and build professional relationships.

For us here at The Cavalry of Heroes, we will always love the opportunity to speak with brides and grooms directly at a Wedding Fayre and answer any questions they may have about having horses and carriages at their wedding.  We always put a lot of care and attention into each Wedding Fayre and we have always had a positive outcome from every Fayre we have attended.  For brides, grooms and exhibitors alike, putting in the effort at these Fayres can be a really positive experience for all.

Look forward to seeing you at a Wedding Fayre soon!

Special thanks to Diva Wedding Fayres, Burgoynes and Elegant Additions who have all put on some stunning and very worthwhile Wedding Fayres which we have had the privilege of attending.

A Wonderful Horse and Carriage Ride Through Staunton-on-Wye

We were very privileged recently to have been part of a very special day in Staunton-on-Wye, providing a horse and carriage tour of the local countryside for a very special couple.  I still think about it today and we are so glad that we could be a part of it.  A special thank you goes out to all the organisers and to Glyn Jones for recommending us and being our groom and the tour guide for the day.

I’ve attached a few images below and would like to add that it was a pleasure to meet such a lovely lady and hear about her passion for horses, carriages and driving.

Wedding Fayres – loved by brides, grooms, families and exhibitors

After a wonderfully successful time at Burgoynes Wedding Fayre this year, I thought I would dedicate this entry to the marvellous work that Wedding Fayre organisers do in order to provide brides and local businesses alike with a valuable resource.

Before getting married last year, I attended several wedding fayres in Hereford and the surrounding area.  I found it invaluable, picking up great ideas for my table centres and ended up booking my florist, hair stylist and make-up artist after seeing their wonderful work first hand. Similarly, I found suppliers who really added that extra nice treat to my big day – people like Ashley McMath from ‘With Love from Bobbin’, whose lace shoe clips added a lovely final touch  on my day.

So it was interesting to attend a couple of wedding fayres this year as an exhibitor. We took the horses Curioso and Asgard to each fayre and they performed brilliantly; being not only photogenic but patient as they made friends with over 90 brides.  It was great to speak with brides (and grooms) and find out all their exciting plans for their big days and to meet with other local suppliers.   The hospitality of the staff on the day, and organisation, also made each fayre a pleasure to be a part of.

As such, for all the brides reading this, if you can, try and make it to at least one fayre, you never know what you might find!  And if you are around this weekend, come and meet Curioso and Asgard at The Munstone House Wedding Fayre, run by Diva Events on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March 2015, where we will also be happy to chat with you about providing you with a beautiful horse drawn carriage to use on your big day. Or perhaps a royal arrival on horseback, escorted by Knights!

How much attention do you get when driving a horse and carriage?

The answer is probably more than you ever get driving anything else – except maybe a zebra (yes, someone – not us – has put a zebra in harness!). Positive comments come from all directions and the feeling of driving a horse in a competition or simply for a jaunt down the country lanes to the pub is exhilarating and time well spent in our opinion. Driving is great for those who are no longer able (or willing!) to get onto the back of a horse but still want to enjoy achieving a new relationship with horses.  Here at The Cavalry of Heroes, Marc Lovatt teaches both people and horses to drive a carriage.
