Easter Sunday – Sunday 16th April 2017 – Sudeley Castle

Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, Sudeley Castle & Gardens has played an important role in England’s history for over 1,000 years.   Rated amongst the top attractions on TripAdvisor for ‘Things to Do in the Cotswolds’, the castle rooms and exhibits contain many fascinating treasures, from ancient Roman times to the present day.

Outside, the castle is surrounded by a breathtaking 1,200 acre estate and ten award-winning gardens.  The centrepiece is the Queens Garden, so named because four of England’s queens – Anne Boleyn, Katherine Parr, Lady Jane Grey and Elizabeth I – once walked upon the original Tudor Parterre.  It is also the only private castle in England to have a queen buried within its grounds – Katherine Parr, the last of Henry VIII’s six wives.  Today visitors can explore the beautiful 15th century church where she lies entombed.

And on Easter Sunday, The Cavalry of Heroes will be performing a Medieval Jousting Tournament in honour of King Henry VIII and Queen Katherine Parr who will be in attendance.  The Knights will be fighting it out on the Tournament Field with Skill at Arms, Jousting and maybe even a sword fight as The Dark Knight tries to capture the King and steel the Castle.

Come and cheer on your Champions in these fast paced, action packed performances.  For more information see Sudeley Castle’s website.

May BANK HOLIDAY – Sunday 30th April and MONDAY 1st May 2017 – Berkeley castle

The Berkeley family welcome you to Berkeley Castle, their ancient fortress home where they have lived since their ancestor, Robert Fitzharding, completed the Keep in the late 12th Century.  The history played out within Berkeley Castle’s walls make it one of the most remarkable buildings in Britain and the family hope that you will visit them to experience its special atmosphere.  Find out more about the Castle and it’s fascinating history on their website, which includes a brilliant video to show you all that goes on at the castle.

The Knights of The Cavalry of Heroes return again to Berkeley for a second year but this year they have been followed… The Dark Knight is on his way to Berkeley Castle and our Champion Golden Knight will need all of your help to defeat The Dark Knight and send him packing.

Full of more action than ever before with fast action tricks, two stunning horses and three Knights and a Princess, there will be jousting and sword fighting as the Knights compete against each other and lots of family friendly entertainment.

Get one of the best views of a jousting tournament from the  raised steps of the Castle as we are graciously allowed to perform on the Front Lawns (thank you to the Berkeley Family for the honour).  And don’t forget to bow to King Henry and the Queen when you see them and take part in all the wonderful activities in the castle.
