Learn to drive a horse and carriage in the beautiful Welsh or Oxford countryside, with Marc Lovatt in traditional English Coachman Style.  Marc has previously driven carriages for HRH The Queen at Buckingham Palace among his many years experience and is fully insured to teach carriage driving.

From driving single horses in a cart with a view to agricultural work, to pairs and teams of horses for personal carriage driving.  Marc Lovatt is based at The Cavalry of Heroes, which he founded back in 2014, and has a variety of horses and carriages for you to learn with while priding ourselves on our excellent safety record and fun, informative experiences.  Learn to drive a horse and carriage yourself or enjoy one of our scenic carriage drives or you can gift the experience as a present with one of our gift certificates.

Introduction to Driving a Horse and Carriage – £299

For one or two people, an in person half day carriage driving experience from Marc Lovatt, who calmly and thoughtfully teaches the traditional skill of driving a horse and carriage at our HQ near Hay-on-Wye, covering both single and pairs, this experience gives you plenty of time behind the reins and can be gifted as a gift certificate.  Marc teaches traditional coachman style just like he did when he worked at The Royal Mews, Buckingham Palace.  You can read more about the Introduction Experience here and you can buy the experience via paypal on the same page.  If you have any questions please contact me.

Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced Carriage Drivimg Lessons

Beginners 1.5 Hours Lesson – £100  For those who have completed a half day carriage driving experience with Marc, lessons can be continued through long-lining and driving a single horse and carriage.  A discounted rate is available if you block book a set of six lessons (available for £500). Contact Us to book.

Intermediate 1.5 Hours Lesson – £120  For those that have gained experience driving through the beginners lessons, you can move onto intermediate lessons for driving a pair, and later to driving a team of four.  Contact Us to book.

Advanced Two Hours Lesson – POA  For Advanced lessons are available from our base in Oxford, including different carriages, routes, obstacles and driving formations.  Contact Us to book.
