Our most popular Wedding Carriage as it provides maximum view of the bride and groom and cover if you are blessed with good luck rain on your wedding day. You can exit from either side with a convenient step. Must be seen to be fully appreciated, just call to arrange a viewing of our carriages to find which is the right one for you.
The Landau was invented in the 18th Century and was built as as social carriage with facing seats to allow for ease of conversation. Normally driven with a pair or four-in-hand the carriage has a beautiful graceful line which is ideal for photographs.
At its height the Landau was considered a luxury carriage because of the maximum visibility of the occupants and their clothing. For this reason it is still popular today with The Royal Mews at Buckingham Palace who have 12 Landaus for ceremonial occasions such as Royal Weddings and State Visits. Marc, our Trainer and Coachman, will be able to tell you more as he was fortunate enough to work at The Royal Mews and drove these beautiful carriages.
A large carriage, so lots of room for the bride’s dress, it can seat five and has an excellent turning circle so can be used at lots of different venues. You might even recognise it was its recent television appearance on the BBC, Netflix and Channel 4.
Our second most popular Wedding Carriage and also great for Country Fayres and Events, as well as tours, as it can seat four to six with an easy step access from the rear. Depending on the amount of occupants it can be pulled by a single horse or a pair of horses (we have both!).
In the past we have decorated it with bunting and flowers and can co-ordinate this with you to match your big day.
The first wagonette was built in England about 1843 and became a popular vehicle, partially because of the implied endorsement of Prince Albert, the husband of Queen Victoria. It was eventually made in a great variety of styles and sizes for public and private use, and it remained popular well into the 20th century.
A pretty looking carriage which can seat two and although used for Weddings in the past, access is slightly more difficult as there isn’t a step to get on board so it is a bit of a climb. Please bear this in mind when enquiring. This is a great carriage though for pub rides and jaunts around the countryside.
The Bennington Carriage is a particular make of carriage. The makers are famed for their production of the Cinderella Style Carriage.
